Where have you been???

Hi everyone! I am so so so sorry! I realised I haven't written a new post for about 3 months now and I'm so sorry I just kind of stopped! I did write a little post before saying that I might not be able to post every week because so much was going on in my life but I think I may have under estimated that massively! So I thought I would bring you up to date!

I am well into my As Levels now in sixth form. If you were interested I am doing them in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, History and DT Product Design! But doing 5 subjects has proved a lot harder than I originally anticipated and sometimes I do question if I have bitten off more than I can chew! But I am enjoying it so much and the freedom and respect you get in Sixth Form is great! So I know some of you might be in the middle of deciding what you are going to do next year and I would totally recommend going to sixth form or college if you can - although I wouldn't recommend taking on 5 subjects!

I have also been working 16 hours a week at Boots now and I absolutely love it! I'm not going to lie though - standing on the till for 8 hours or going in and out of the stock room re stacking the shelves is a lot of hard work but the people there are so nice and the working atmosphere there is great! When the tills are quite you can have a chat with anyone else who is on the tills with you and I've met so many nice people! The one problem working there is the trains! I live about a 10 minute train ride away but I work on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday and the trains aren't as frequent as I would like! So instead of spending 16 hours in Bath I'm actually spending about 25 hours over the week which just makes me even more tired than I would usually be - I've been using my frees at the moment to try and catch up with sleep which probably isn't the best use of the time but I need it!!!

Another thing I haven't been able to do is keep my room tidy so just ignore the mess!!!!!!

So with all this going on top of the things I already do in the week such as Rainbows, Brownies, Rangers, going to the gym, I just haven't been able to justify spending the few hours I have writing blog posts which I know sounds incredibly rude but I don't mean it like that and I know you will understand!

BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS! I am currently working towards my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award which is an award you can get by completing lots of different sections and at the end you go to Buckingham Palace to get your certificate!!! That is a pretty poor description but you can either Google it or I'll probably write a post about it at some point! One of the sections is a skills section and guess what?! I can put blogging down in that section! This means that I'll have a legitimate reason to devote my time to making this blog better so expect a lot more posts in the new year (and hopefully a couple before)!

So was just supposed to be a quick update and to let you know I'll be back soon but it ended up turning into a bit of a ramble - sorry! Thanks for reading!

GCSE Results

Hi everyone! So I picked up my GCSE results yesterday and they were a lot better than I expected! I achieved A*'s in English Literature, Maths, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry & ICT. A's in History, Spanish, English Language, Physics & ICT and a B in Art! This means I have all the grades I needed to get into my schools sixth form where I want to study Maths, Further Maths, History, DT Product Design and Physics (although I might swap it for a different Science?)

So basically it means that I now have loads of prep work for those subjects to do before I go back in September. And when I do go back I know I'm going to have so much work to do as so many people have told me the gap between GCSEs and A levels is huge (yay!).

On top of all my school work I also now have a job! I'll be working at Boots as a Christmas Sales Assistant from the end of September until January and then they will review it in January as to whether they will offer me a permanent job there! I'm super excited to start working there as they all seemed so nice when I went for an interview and my Mums first job was actually working in Boots too!

You are probably wondering how all this will effect you and my blog? Well with 25 hours of lessons in Sixth form plus god knows how many hours at home doing extra work and 16 hours working a week I won't have as much free time as I've had the past three months on holiday so there is just no way I can post every other day/ more than once a week as I've been trying to do!

I will still be posting once a week and I will of course try to do some extra ones but I obviously can't guarantee anything! But stick around because I have loads more things to write about and it will just grow!

So thanks for reading and if you've just got any results let me know what you're doing next!

My Night Time Skin Care Routine

Hi everyone! Now the humid weather has kicked in I have decided I really need to be taking better care of my skin. I know I should be doing so already, but I've never had too much of a problem with my skin thus I never really bothered to look after (that's really bad - I know) but for any number of reasons my skin has started to annoy me.

I think I have combination skin - it's mainly oily but sometimes it gets dry so this might not be relevant to you but you can enjoy reading what I do to my face!

Firstly I take off my make up. I normally/used to use Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes but I have read on so many blogs & in video blogs that it is really bad to use wipes.

So I had a voucher for £5 off any No7 skin care product to use in Boots so I bought some cleansing lotion. Normally it is £8 but of course with my voucher I got it for £3! I'm still getting used to using this instead of the wipes so I can't give my opinion on it yet.

After taking all my make up and any grime from the day off I wash my face with my Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser which I got from the Body Shop a little while ago for £5.

I then like to put a face mask on. I tend to buy them from Superdrug as they are 99p and are on a 3 for the price of 4 deal. I don't know if I have a small face or something but I find one face mask will last me 2-3 uses which makes them even better value for money! I like to have a variety of different masks my recurring favourites being: Tropical Smoothie Self Heating Mask; Dead Sea Purifying Clay Mask; Apricot Exfoliating Mask and Fruit Sorbet Peel Off Mask (which isn't pictured as I already used it!)

After leaving it on for a little bit I wash it off with cold water as I find it more refreshing & I think I read somewhere about it closing up the pores?

I then use my Cucumber Freshening Water which is sort of like a toner with a few extra bits also from The Body Shop and again I bought it a while ago so I don't remember the price.

Any spots I have I put a dab of this blemish stick from Witch.

Next and arguably most importantly I moisturise my skin with Simple Hydrating Moisturiser. This bottle is nearly all used up so please excuse it's worn looking exterior!

I then use a bit more of my Witch blemish stick and put a little bit of Savlon (which is just a brand antiseptic cream) on any spots that are particularly bad!

Last but not least, I think it is just as important to moisturise your lips as well as your skin. Loads of people find it strange that I have a tube of Vaseline instead of a pot but I find it much better as I hate using the pots as it gets under my nails and makes my finger feel sticky and odd - but that's just me!

And that's me done! Let me know how you look after your skin & if I have missed any products I should be using! Thank you for reading! (:

Review 'No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour' in 'Cruising'

Hi everyone! I recently had a voucher for £3 off any No7 make up (including nail varnishes) at Boots so I went to have a little look around but as I don't really wear much make up it seemed a bit pointless spending it of make up so I got a nail varnish! Normally, they are £6 but with this voucher I got it for £3! Most of the colours were shades of pinks & reds and I didn't really want that as I have so many so I got a deep bluey green colour.

Firstly I used my Barry M base coat which I picked up for £2.99 to protect my nails as they break so much! I really like this one as it doubles up as a top coat which a) saves you a bit of money & b) saves you a bit of room in your bag if you are going away!

I then applied the first coat of colour. I put on a very thin coat after last time my nails didn't dry properly so as you can see it's a little bit opaque but if you did apply a little thicker of a coat I think you would be able to get away with only one coat of colour. The bottle claims to be highly pigmented & quick drying but I'm not too sure about the quick drying aspect as it still took a good 10 minutes or so to dry.

I then put the second coat of colour on and I think the colour is really strong now

I then used the Barry M base and top coat on the top and cleaned up the mess I made painting them et voila!

I really liked this colour. It's not particularly summery in my opinion but it is a really nice colour. Thinking about it... I'm not sure really what season this colour is - can it be all? I would really recommend this brand and this colour because it has such a glossy finish to it even without the top coat & I really don't like nail varnishes with a matt finish but each to their own.

Let me know your opinion on the colour and if you've tried any No7 nail varnish before! Thank you for reading (:
